Multi-Mission Flexibility

The MAFFS system is the only proven multi-role tool providing effective missions for: Firefighting (both rapid attack and containment), Chemical/Oil Spills (system capable of delivering Corexit & AFFF Foam, Nuclear, Radiological and Biological contamination (delivery of atomized isotopes), Fumigation (pest & mosquito mitigation) and Agricultural applications (vegetation control and crop dusting).

Rapid Response

MAFFS is a “24-hour resource”, meaning that when activated, it is expected that it will take 24 hours for the aircraft to arrive on scene, as the C-130s have to be pulled from their regular military duties and fitted with the MAFFS equipment. Tanks are rapidly filled via ground source or mixing station systems. A full fill takes just 10 minutes at typical flow rates (pump speed 300 gpm).

Mission Statement

In 1971, The US Forest Service in close coordination with the Air National Guard and US Air Force Reserve developed the Modular Aerial Fire Fighting System (MAFFS) to temporarily convert C-130 transport planes into Type 1 Large Airtankers when available civilian resources are not enough to get the job done. Thus, the US Military Firefighting mission was born and has continued non-stop for almost 50 years.

The MAFFS team provides both the equipment and the solution. Our approach offers a full scope of services for equipment, training, tactics and support for a variety of mission types and strategies.   Our premiere MAFFS II systems have been in successful operations for over 10 years, dropping millions of gallons on fires and oil spills both in the United States and abroad.   Our mission continues to be offering the cleanest system and most precise drops in the market.
